70.3 SWIM DISTANCE BUILDER
A 12-Week Progressive Swim Program
Build from the pool to 1.9km open-water race distance
Stop worrying about the swim leg. This program takes you from a comfortable 500–1,000m (with rest breaks) to swimming the full 1.9km half ironman distance — continuously, and with confidence.
This program is for you if:
- You can currently swim 500–1,000m with rest in between and want to build real distance
- You’re training for a half ironman (70.3) and want the 1.9km swim handled
- You’re targeting an Olympic distance triathlon (1.5km) and want a structured build
- You’re using it as an early base-building block on the way to full ironman distance (3.8km)
Over 12 weeks, session volume increases steadily — no guesswork, no plateaus — so by race week you’ve already swum the distance, multiple times, well before you need to do it on the day.
What’s included:
- 12 weeks of structured, week-by-week swim sets (2 sessions per week)
- Clear pace guidance so you build endurance without burning out
- Dryland and swim warm-up routines, plus cool-down protocol
- Simple pull buoy/fins guidance to help you complete distance safely as it builds
- Delivered as an instant-download PDF — follow it at your own pace, anywhere you swim
Coached by 28 years of experience. Built by Paul at Aces Swimming, who has coached national age group champions and state record holders. This program distills the same progressive-loading principles used with competitive swimmers into a simple, effective build for triathletes.
